Download MacroWorks II v1.0.1.2

After extensive testing, we are releasing an update to the X-keys MacroWorks II (MWII) software.  In addition to adding backlight control for the X-keys Stick, Jog & Shuttle Pro, and Joystick Pro, this update includes the following:

  • Improved support for multiple X-keys
  • Fixed Application Specific Layer issue
  • Improved response time when opening MWII from the Task Bar

    • Download MacroWorks II (v.1.0) here: mwii.v1.0.1.2.exe (2.54 MB).

    By downloading and installing this MacroWorks II software, you are thereby accepting the terms and conditions of our End User License Agreement (EULA).

Operating Requirements for MacroWorks II

MacroWorks II software for Windows is compatible with all X-keys USB hardware and requires Windows 2000, XP, or Vista. The software can be used with any of our X-keys devices, with the following exceptions:

  • It is compatible with the LCD Keypad keys, but not with the LCD display or optional card readers
  • It is compatible with the 84-key and 128-key devices, but does not support the card reader

Installing MacroWorks II v1.0

MacroWorks II v1.0 installation requires the removal of earlier versions of MacroWorks. Please uninstall earlier versions of MacroWorks before installing MacroWorks II v1.0. Please note macros programmed in the original MacroWorks software can not be transferred over to MacroWorks II. For questions, please contact tech@piengineering.com.

X-keys® Macro Recorder

Hardware Mode Programming Software for Windows 2000 or XP

Compatible with all X-keys USB devices with SE firmware or earlier.  Check the label on the back of your X-keys device.  If it says “X-keys SE” or just “X-keys” it is compatible with Macro Recorder.  If it says “X-keys MWII” it requires our MacroWorks II Software or contact tech@xkeys.com for Hardware Mode programming options. 

Requires Windows 2000 or XP.  Not compatible with Windows Vista.

Installation and Tutorial

Installation Instructions:

  1. Please download and install X-keys Macro Recorder from the following link: http://www.piengineering.com/download/Macro_Recorder.zip
  2. Once the X-key Macro Recorder is installed please restart your computer.
  3. Once the computer has been restarted, put the X-keys programming switch into the programming position. ( Click on the following link for location of programming switch: http://www.piengineering.com/support/progswi.php) You should get a "New Hardware Wizard". When the "New Hardware Wizard" appears click on "Install from a disk or a different location (Advanced)."

Uncheck the removable media check box and check the "Include this location" box like the picture below. Click on the "Browse" button and browse to Local Disk:\WINDOWS\system32.

Found New Hardware Wizard

Click on next.

If you get a screen that asks you to insert the X-keys installation disk,

Insert Disk

click on ok and in the next window click on browse,

Files Needed

and use the following path Local Disk:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers.

Locate File

When done click on "Finish."
